“My Grandparents wedding song”

Our story

My story begins with my great-grandparents, especially my Grandma. I grew up surrounded by their love for gardening—spending my childhood in their garden, exploring the greenhouse, and being a member of the garden club that my Grandma signed me up to.

I sadly had to say goodbye to them both of couple of years back. We lost Grandad first, and in the wake of his passing, my Grandma and I became inseparable. We spent countless hours together in her garden, often sitting on the same bench where she and Grandad sat together (as pictured above). Grandad Dave passed away in April 2020, just as the apple blossom trees at the end of their street were beginnging to bloom. My Grandma and I decided forage some of the delicate blooms a year later —mine for pretty house decor, while she clipped hers to attempt to propergate them.

Just before the anniversary of his passing, we sadly lost my Grandma too—what we believe was from a broken heart.

Both times in early May, was when we had to say our final goodbyes. Just as the apple tree blossoms blew, carrying petals down their street. I always think it was a sign from them…

After creating both of their farewell petals, I was left with an immense void. It was then that flowers became more than just a memory; they became my creative outlet, my way of keeping them close.

And so, Apple Blossom in May was born—a tribute to my beloved grandparents and named after their wedding song.

What started as something deeply personal has now grown into something cherished not just by me, but by my family as well. Together, we have made it what it is today - a reminder of how flowers can bring joy, spark a smile, and say the words we sometimes struggle to find, whether in moments of celebration, comfort, or love.
